The Marketing course is ideal for students who want to learn theoretical knowledge of media and communications, as the course responds to the value and opportunities of marketing in the contemporary world.

You will learn media and communications in its social, cultural, economic, and legal context, the breadth of marketing principles, the opportunity to apply knowledge and principles to professional practice, as well as developing awareness of how the marketing industry works.

You will undertake fundamental units in digital marketing, marketing and advertising, media and society and critical thinking.

Dr. Paul Doornbusch is the Associate Dean. As well as teaching on the Audio Engineering program and with more than ten years of international practice and teaching experience, Paul is regarded as one of Australia’s major players in the electronic and computer music scene. He is a composer, sonologist, researcher and occasional performer who works largely with algorithmic composition systems for traditional instruments and electronics. Paul’s work has been presented internationally in concerts throughout Europe, the US, Canada, and Australasia, and ranges from compositions involving instruments and electronics to media works. Paul successfully completed a major research project – to reconstruct and document the music played by Australia’s first computer (CSIRAC) – while he was a composer-in-residence at the Computer Science department of the University of Melbourne.
